9. Preliminary selection

• Select and examine the alternatives with the highest rankings
• Drop those lowest on the list
• It should now be possible to conclude

  • "This one is clearly the best"
  • Or, "Both of these are very close, but have somewhat different results"
• If there is one clear "best", does it feel right?

  • If not, re-examine the objectives in step 4
