If the project has only a short while to go
- Then you just have to motivate the team for a final push
If it has a long way to go
- Then team morale needs to be rebuilt, meaning
- A new project plan
- New and clear expectations from each team member
- And new discipline in team communications!
- Frown on rumor mongering, don't let rumor fester
- Instead, communicate openly, tell it like it is
- Don't over commit
- Give the team a chance to settle down
- Take control of scope
- And postpone changes if at all possible
