PERT helps to remove bias from time estimating
If you ask for one estimate
- Does the respondent reply with the most likely time?
- Or do they add a little to be "on the safe side"
- And if so, how much?
- And how do we know?
- The result is a fuzzy estimate at best
- Or a downright biased estimate at worst
By asking for three
- We should know where we stand
- And the software does the rest
