In principle, a position description should express
- Why it exists (authority)
- What must be done (responsibility)
- How it should be done (accountability)
And do so in factual, concise, unambiguous terms
Every reader should be able to gain exactly the same understanding from its content
- Brevity is the watch word - "Ten-page" descriptions are not helpful!
Application, however, will vary with the project life cycle
