Scope: Confusion

In project management circles over the years there has been some confusion

• In 1987, the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge defined scope as

  • The work content and products of a project, or one of its components
  • Including all activities, resources and quality standards
• However, this sweeping coverage led to confusion between scope management and project management

  • Since they amounted to much the same thing
