Versioning
Versioning is equally important
- Especially if documents are to be "checked in and out"
The simplest approach
- Is simply to add R0, R1, R2, etc, on the end
- E.g.: P1693_RequtsSum_Jones_R2
- Means: Project #1693, Requirements Summary, by Jones, Revision #2, (R0 being the original)
The project manager
- Must decide what earlier versions must be saved
- And what may be discarded
- This may even be the subject of corporate policy
- E.g. earlier versions of Project Definition should be saved
- On the other hand, after the final version is agreed
- Draft versions of Meeting Minutes may be discarded
