• Project cost control is much more than just collecting expenditures and issuing reports

• Sound cost control involves a number of tasks including

  • Establishing a version of the project budget that is consistent with how the money will be spent

    • I.e. consistent with the project's procurement strategy
  • Regularly collecting actual costs to date

    • Including work-in-progress
