Line of Balance

These charts are more specific and are described as

• A graphical display of scheduled units versus actual units over a given set of critical schedule control points on a particular day, or specific period
• The line of balance technique is oriented towards the control of production activities
• They may be used to advantage where a project includes a long production run

  • Such as pre-casting concrete units
  • Or prolonged dirt haulage for embankment work
  • These charts are not all that common in project work
