• Detailed description of the "clarification", that is to make the original contract documents clearer, but not to change their intent. That would be a contract change
• The content area might lead with this note:

  • "The following instructions are for clarification only and are issued in accordance with the contract"
• It might also end with this note:

  • "The contractor shall notify the project manager within 24 hours if these instructions affect the cost or schedule of the work"
