• Don't develop the Business Case in isolation

  • Involve the principle stakeholders to gain buy-in
• Don't make unsupported assumptions or jump to quick solutions

  • Verify the facts as far as possible
• Don't confuse budget transfers as cost savings

  • The organization must still pay for all of the project costs, regardless of which department foots the bill
• Don't select service suppliers based on price alone

  • Competence and capacity are much more important
