Rule 9a.

On very large projects, for optimum supervision of contracted services, the following "rules of thumb" are recommended


• Design work packages should not be less than, say, 300 man-hours and/or 2 months in duration
• And not more than 1000 man-hours and/or 6 months duration

Rule 9b.

Similarly for execution/construction


• A minimum value of 0.1% of the total construction value is suggested
