What is the purpose of a Work Package?

The purpose of a work package is to:

• Describe the work to be done by the organizational unit responsible for doing it
• It is a general term used to describe a subdivision of the whole project
• It is constituted by a specific grouping of work activities
• It represents the lowest developed level of any particular branch of a WBS
