Some important requirements

To be effective, this simple but powerful feedback idea has some special requirements:

• The plan must be expressed in terms that can be measured during project execution

  • Otherwise it will not be possible to draw the required comparisons
• The observations during project execution must be consistent with elements of the plan

  • And vice versa, to make the required comparisons
• The comparisons must be made frequently and rapidly

  • Sufficiently frequent and rapid to enable corrective action while time and resources still permit
