To recap IAC #1030, the purpose of PM Guidelines is to:

• Provide consistent direction in the management of all the organization's projects
• Raise the level of successful performance and customer satisfaction with project results
• Establish a reference baseline for performance reviews and audits
• Enhance the organization's goodwill with its stakeholders and customers in the course of the project process
