Beware of objections to manuals
- And make sure that yours do not fall prey
- To the following protests
- Manuals are too hard to use
- They are too abstract, complex or wordy
- Too hard to read
- Too large and bulky
- Too hard to find specific information
- Out of date, not maintained, or incomplete
- Too restrictive, limiting ability to exercise judgment
- And they discourage initiative and freedom of action
